Our vision 2030: Rwanda as a small satellites and constellations center for Africa.
We are building a complete local space ecosystem for manufacturing, integrating, deploying, operating and utilizing satellites and their services in Rwanda for the rest of Africa.
Due to our know-how and experience, we are able to cover the full project cycle. We start from mission definition and analysis followed by the system development during which we perform system engineering, mechanical design, structural and thermal analysis, electrical and software development, subsystems procurement, manufacturing, integration, assembly, testing, qualification and finally provide you with launch.
Rwandan satellite with hyperspectral camera
Hyperspectral sensing offers a great synergic remote-sensing technique for agriculture, climate change, natural hazards, security or border control. Satellite will offer customized identification of spectral characteristics of a wide list of events/cases and their algorithmized detection from satellites.
Size: 6U
Start of the project: 1Q 2024
Satellite launch: 2Q 2025
Project is led by TRL Space Rwanda with cooperation with local ecosystem, industrial partners, universities, Rwanda Space Agency and other stakeholders. Part of the project is the investment in a new infrastructure for satellites development in Kigali and TRL Space will open new job opportunities for local engineers and students.
Company major value is quality 9+. This means that on a scale 0 to 10 we want to achieve a quality score of 9 or more. It applies to everything we do: how our products look, how good our service is, how we communicate, how we behave, what kind of working tools we have. We never compromise.
This is a list of seven values based on which our company is built upon.
The objective of the Golem X project is the research, development, production and semi-operation of the Experimental Global Orbital Electro-Optical System in order to verify the technologies, activities, characteristics and other parameters of the satellite observation system in low orbit. Our collaboration will result in a low Earth orbit carrier of these technologies and its subsequent semi-operation for at least 12 months for practical verification of these technologies.
Our company will be involved in the development, launch and operation of the system in low orbit in terms of research and development of components, design of the test facility, its launch to low orbit, its operation including stabilization, orbital maneuverability, tasking, control of subsystems, acquisition of electro-optical data, acquisition of telemetry data, communications, termination and other necessary steps.
Lunar Geology Orbiter to provide high-resolution topography, sub-surface and spectral data in support of above-mentrioned lunar activities. This includes mapping of lava tubes and caves as ideal areas for radiation and micrometeorite-protected habitats, identifying resource-rich non-polar areas for ISRU operations and providing detailed topography in support of rover operations.
Selecting suitable areas for settlements, surface exploration missions, support operations, and in-situ resource utilization on the Moon requires detailed lunar geology mapping. This includes precise data on sub-surface prospecting (lava tubes and caves), surface topography and more detailed compositional spectroscopy.
Our mission includes also testing the technologies for space laser communication from the Moon will help build laser communication systems between satellites, ground and deep space missions.
While such data has been collected by various campaigns, it is not available in the robustness and detail needed for planning long-term lunar operations. Due to the vastness of the Lunar surface, the adequate mapping is also unlikely to be provided by rovers in needed coverage and time.
Would you like to work on a mission to the Moon? Or on Earth Observation satellite? Or dozens of other projects around the world? Get in touch with us. We look for engineers with experience. But we also seek young people who want to start a career.
